Behind every perfect image stands the right light – and you as the Gaffer. You are responsible for the lights, cables, and the team that creates visual results in the studio.

Job Description

As a Gaffer, you plan and organize the lighting setup, lead the lighting team, and ensure that equipment, cables, and lights are used safely and efficiently. You serve as a natural sounding board during production, contributing problem-solving skills, creativity, and practical support to achieve the best possible results.

You support image and film production by creating the right lighting in studio environments, thereby contributing to the production's visual expression. Based on the photographer's and Art Director's plans and descriptions, you plan and execute the lighting, primarily in the studio but also at other locations when necessary, such as at trade fairs and exhibitions.

You thrive in a dynamic environment where the pace may vary and where planning, collaboration, and quick decision-making are a natural part of the workday. The role involves close collaboration with the photographer, Art Director, and other functions in the production, and you are comfortable with both responsibility and leading the lighting work on-site.

You have solid technical expertise in lighting and can translate creative ideas into practical solutions in the studio or on location. Your understanding of light properties, camera angles, and image composition enables you to create the right atmosphere and visual expression in every scene.

Requirements:

• Documented education and/or experience in lighting for photography or film
• Experience in planning and executing lighting in production
• Valid driver's license (Category B)
• Fluent in Swedish
• Good command of English
